You can restrict the changes to a line or column range or both. Convert files from foreign computer systems between mainframe fixed-length formats and DOS, Macintosh and Unix line-feed formats. Filters can remove blanks from the start or end of each line, remove blank lines, remove HTML tags, add line numbers. Sub filters can identify text subsets such as a range of lines or columns to be operated on without affecting any other text. This makes it easy to only perform a replacement in lines 1 to 10, or in columns 3 to 20. Other sub filters allow search replacements (allowing replacement text to be capitalized etc).
