A tabbed notepad for jotting down notes quickly and easily. Designed for those who prefer using shortcut keys over the mouse - all tool buttons have an Alt key shortcut, making font formatting and bulleting a snap. You can determine the shortcut for a button simply by identifying the underlined letter on the button. For example, you can bold, make uppercase, increase font size, change color, and bullet the selected text, without releasing the Alt key, and without having to access help to determine what the shortcut keys are. Common shortcut keys used in other applications, such as Ctrl B (Bold) and Ctrl F (Find), will also work in TabPad. Use TabPad to store notes, and lists, including research notes, project notes, to-do lists, trip check lists, ideas, goals, music to try, books to read, etc. Organize notes into as many notepads (notebooks) as you wish. All notepads can be kept in a folder on the desktop. Each notepad can contain up to 255 tabbed pages. You can change pages (tabs) at any time using a shortcut, simply use Ctrl Shift plus the first letter of the page you want to change to. Each page is in Rich Text Format (RTF), allowing you to change font size, color, bold, italic, underline, strikeout, and insert bullets. Each RTF page has practically no limit on the amount of formatted text and graphics that can be stored. Pages are saved as individual RTF files in a folder on your hard drive, and can be opened using WordPad or any other word processor that supports the RTF standard. By default, TabPad saves changes to your work automatically without prompt. If you prefer, you can be prompted before changes are saved to each page. TabPad can be customized by changing tool button colors, changing document color, hiding the menu, etc.
