This suite of six powerful applications replaces the Windows shut down dialog, launches programs at startup and shutdown, starts and stops NT services, controls startup sources, and kills running applications. It uses wizards to make it easy to perform common tasks like deleting temporary files, backing up directories, running Scandisk, and ejecting CDs at shut down. Shensoft Power Launcher Plus contains six programs: Launcher Manager controls what runs at startup, and defines programs and run criteria, Startup Launcher runs programs when Windows starts up, On Time Launcher schedules programs to run at pre-defined times, Shutdown Launcher replaces the Windows shut down dialog and runs programs when Windows shuts down, App Killer kills selected sets of running programs, and Cloning Tool simplifies setting up multiple Shensoft Power Launcher Plus installations - a useful tool for system administrators.The Launcher Manager reveals every program that runs when Windows starts, whether it is launched from the registry, win.ini file, Startup folder, or the Autoexec batch file. Disabling one of these programs is as easy as clicking on a checkbox. It also sets the programs that are run by a Launcher at shut down, at startup, or at a scheduled time, with criteria each program must meet in order to run. The criteria includes frequency (how often the program runs), and limits (such as the maximum times it can run in one day, only run between certain times, and only run under certain hardware conditions). User defined messages can be displayed before or after the program runs, with actions taken that are dependent on the user''s selection.Some common tasks are:· Schedule an automatic Shutdown, Restart, or Logoff· Schedule a DB Server service to stop, perform a backup, and then either restart the service.· Trouble shoot startup problems by temporarily disabling programs that start from the registry.· Manage the order of programs that run at startup.
