Galactic Conquest is a turn-based strategy game about the conquest of the Milky Way galaxy designed for three players (any combination of computer and human opponents, with internet play possible as a shared application using Netmeeting). Beginning at the edge of the galaxy in the vicinity of our Sun, players spread throughout space competing for resources that will allow them to develop additional units for further expansion. Suitable for ages 12 and older, the game rules are simple, but the strategies are subtle and the outcomes are always different. Winning the game requires a combination of resource balances, spatial location, and diplomacy. But don''t always expect your strategy to go as planned, as cataclysmic events (for example, a nova) can eliminate entire solar systems and all their inhabitants. The galaxy itself thus evolves during game play, as what was once a key strategic location may suddenly cease to exist!
