You only need one ISDN card and fax@MAIL receives your incoming faxes and forwards them as a picture in an email to your email account. You can define unlimited direct call numbers (MSNs) and unlimited email addresses. The pictures are sent as an attachment and you can choose between different graphic formats. These formats are *.jpg, *.tiff, *.sff and *.png. The formats *.tiff and *.sff support multipage display, this means that several fax pages are put together in one file. After receiving the fax on a certain number it gets converted and will be sent to your email account. The sending of the email works over port 25, the standard post for SMTP conversation. You can choose any SMTP server. Prerequisite is that you know username and password for login protected SMTP servers. The authentication methods are CRAM MD5, AUTH LOGIN and LOGIN PLAIN. The difference between AUTH LOGIN and LOGIN PLAIN is that AUTH LOGIN uses a standard encryption ? LOGIN PLAIN does not have any encryption. Please inform yourself what your SMTP server needs as authentication!!You can use fax@MAIL in your company as a standard fax receiving machine and a telephone set or you can also use it at home. fax@MAIL is only able to receive faxes and does not support modems - only ISDN cards are supported. If you are receiving lots of faxes from one number to several internal numbers you can define that an incoming fax with the number XXX shall be forwarded to one certain email address no matter to which number is was sent. Also a fax journal is delivered where you can see information about the received faxes. This information is saved in an Access database (*.mdb). You also can open the received faxes in the fax journal and take a look at them. Please note that you need a special viewer for sff or for mutlipage tiff. Your configuration is saved in an XML file and can be edited by the programme or with an XML editor.
